Defendant/Suspect: Pamela Sue Robinson
On September 19th, 2004, Officer K. Merrick with Richmond Animal Control responded to a dog that had been tied to a tree in a CVS parking lot and abandoned. Merrick found the dog with no food/water/shelter, and the tether was a foot long, only allowing the dog to stand to keep itself from choking.A temperature of 83 degrees outside and a rectal temperature of 104.3 degrees were taken. The dog was also found to be extremely dehydrated.
On September 22nd, 2004, Pamela Sue Robinson was charged with cruelty abandonment under state code 3.1-796.122 and falure to provide adequate care under state code 3.1-796.68.
On October 5th, 2004, Robinson plead guilty to both charges. Robinson received $400 fine with $200 suspended, and 30 days in jail with 30 days suspended. Robinson was forced to relinquish the dog to the care of Richmond Animal Care and Control. References- case #'s GC04008700-00, GC04008701-00
