Maira Guillen found a dead cat in the mail box at The Church of Christ. The cat was beheaded and bound with rope, its legs cut off.
Police crime scene investigators took pictures of the area and gathered samples of residue in the mailbox.
It is the second time in just under a month an animal has been found bound and tortured to death. On September 2 a little dog named Lucky was found beheaded with his feet tied up with his leash.
Animal care services' A.J. Hernandez is working that case and sees similarities between the two.
"It seems to be cat that was beheaded and legs cut off again. It�s a situation where it could be a copy cat situation," Hernandez said at the scene. "It could be anyone. It could be teenagers. It could be young kids causing pranks or stuff like that or somebody older. We just don't know at this time but regardless or the age, it could be a felony and it's a crime and we'll treat it just like that.
