Randall Davis of Capshaw Road in Madison County was arrested Tuesday on animal cruelty charges.Friday, seven starving animals were taken from Davis' house. Monday, another crew searched the house for more animals carcasses, although no additional animals were discovered.

"They went in with their gas masks due to the smell," a neighbor said.

But neighbors still worry about the structure's exposed electrical wires, sagging roof and trash. Monday, a county building inspector reportedly visited the property, responding to neighbors' complaints the house should be condemned. Due to home rule limitations, county officials' hands are tied.

The animals are o.k. They're being handled by officials at Huntsville's Animal Services shelter on Triana Boulevard. It's unclear at this point when or if they'll become available for adoption.
