Sacramento police have identified the man wanted for setting a black cat on fire after telling witnesses the feline was "bad luck" on Aug. 3 in Oak Park.

Jimmie Jones, 19,  a Del Paso resident, allegedly placed the cat on a BBQ, covered it with lighter fluid and set it on fire at a home on the 3600 block of 5th Avenue, Sacramento Police spokeswoman Officer Michelle Lazark said.

The small cat had to be euthanized due to its injuries. A felony arrest warrant has been issued for Jones charging him with animal cruelty.

Anyone with information on Jones' whereabouts is asked to call Crime Alert at (916) 443-HELP.
