more information on voting
When you vote, you are voting on whether or not the punishment fit the crime, NOT on the severity of the case itself. If you feel the sentence was very weak, you would vote 1 star. If you feel the sentence was very strong, you would vote 5 stars.
Please vote honestly and realistically. These ratings will be used a a tool for many future programs, including a "Peoples Choice" of best and worst sentencing, DA and judge "report cards", and more. Try to resist the temptation to vote 1 star on every case, even if you feel that 100 years in prison isnt enough.

A San Francisco woman has pleaded guilty in federal court to felony animal cruelty after locking her dog in a closet to starve to death. Raija Hossainy had moved out of her apartment in June 2001, leaving her dog tied inside a closet without food or water.
Worried neighbors called the police over a month later, when they noticed a foul odor emanating from the apartment. When investigators arrived, they found the dog's dead body inside the closet, which had been held shut with weights. They also found scratch marks on the inside of the closet door where the dog had tried to escape. The case is being heard in federal court because it occurred on federal property.
