A 19-year-old Dumfries man has been charged with animal cruelty after the death of a dog left in an auto, Prince William County police said.

Bruce McCane left two dogs in a vehicle on Stevens Road in Woodbridge. One of the dogs died, police stated. The other was taken to a veterinary hospital.
