The Humane Society of the United States is offering a $2,500 reward and the Animal Trustees of Austin is putting up $3,000 for information leading to the arrest of a kitten killer.
Police want to arrest the person responsible for throwing kittens, ages 5 months to 8 months, from vehicles on MoPac, U.S. Highway 183, Capital of Texas Highway and the upper deck of Interstate 35 in Austin.
More than a dozen dead kittens have been found on highways in the Austin area, all apparently thrown from vehicles.
The Austin Police Department Animal Cruelty Unit does not have a description of the offenders and no witnesses to these crimes. Anyone with information should call 311, or the main APD number at 512-974-5000.
