Jeanne M. Smith was brought back into Hazlet Township Municipal Court by the Monmouth County SPCA. Ever defiant, the defendant was found guilty of contempt of court for violating the order imposed upon her after pleading guilty to animal cruelty charges on November 30, 2001. As a result of the guilty verdict, the court extended her probation, ordered her to pay further restitution and imposed stricter terms of supervision in an effort to prevent further cruelty. Further defiance of court imposed conditions may result in the incarceration of Ms. Smith.
