Dozens of valuable Japanese carp have disappeared from a Lexington, MA backyard pond.
Other carp owners on the North Shore have also reported the disappearances of the brilliantly colored fish from their backyard ponds. Also Lexington, had a similar theft 4 years ago.
These fish, also known as Koi, are considered a sign of wealth and class throughout Asia and Europe. Koi enthusiasts pay as much as $100,000 for a single fish and insure their animals with custom insurance policies.
