Disposition: Open
Suspect(s) Unknown - We need your help!
A Humboldt's woolly monkey has been seen in the woods in and Danville NH.
Animal Control Officers Rosemarie Bishop and Denise Laratonda along with Fire Chief David Kimball had been trying to trap the elusive monkey for 3 months but called off the search in November.
Animal Control is also trying to locate the owner of the rare capuchin monkey.
The elusive monkey had been sighted many times and his hiding spot had been located, where bananas, candy and marshmallows were found stored.
The monkey was last seen on November 19th by 2 hunters about 30 feet up in a tree. The hunters stated the monkey did not look good.
Unfortunately no one believes the monkey will survive in the woods over the New Hampshire cold winter.
Anyone with any information about the monkey or the owner of the monkey should contact Animal Control at 603-887-2228. If you have information on this case, please contact: Denise Laratonda dnvaco@aol.com 603-887-2228
