Beating dog with 2x4, illegally docking tails

Alleged: David Trawick

Deputies say David Trawick, of Benson, also beat one of his three dogs with a 2-by-4. Officers took the animals from Trawick's house on Roberts Trail Monday.

"According to the law, you can't mutilate, torture or maim an animal and when you cut a dog's tail off, you can image that would be kind of painful," animal control officer Tracy Langdon said.

Trawick's first court appearance is scheduled for Sept. 11, 2003
