more information on voting
When you vote, you are voting on whether or not the punishment fit the crime, NOT on the severity of the case itself. If you feel the sentence was very weak, you would vote 1 star. If you feel the sentence was very strong, you would vote 5 stars.
Please vote honestly and realistically. These ratings will be used a a tool for many future programs, including a "Peoples Choice" of best and worst sentencing, DA and judge "report cards", and more. Try to resist the temptation to vote 1 star on every case, even if you feel that 100 years in prison isnt enough.

Disposition: Convicted Case Images: 1 files available
Defendant/Suspect: William Paul
William Paul was suspended without pay December 2003. After believing he had killed the dog with an injection, Paul dumped it at a New Jersey garbage transfer station, where it was compacted with other trash on a garbage truck.
A worker spotted the dog as it poked its head from the rear of the truck the next day -- just before it was to be dumped at a landfill.
The 5-year-old shepherd-Labrador mix was taken to a local kennel, where it was adopted.
Paul, who had served in Perth Amboy for nearly 20 years, is now barred from caring for animals at public and private facilities. He also was told to surrender his animal control officer license.
William Paul pleaded guilty to charges of animal cruelty and abandonment. References |
