Ferenc Boncz, 76 is facing a charge of animal cruelty after allegedly striking a dog with a magazine as it sat inside its owner's car last month.
Ferenc Boncz, 76, of Sterling, claiming that he was only trying to grab a pen from a car with a "For Sale" sign when a dog inside bit him, causing him to continuously hit the pet.
The pet's owner was sitting by a window at a Restaurant 1 when she spotted an older man standing beside her car with his arm dangling inside, according to police reports.
She told police that her pet was waiting inside her car and the windows were rolled down about four inches, so the dog could not fit its head through the window.
When she approached Boncz in the parking lot, he told her he would sue her since the dog bit him.
Boncz claimed he was trying to reach for a pen from inside her car so he could jot her phone number down. She had a "for sale" sign in the window with her phone number on it.
