David Robinson pleaded guilty to killing a neighbor's pet rabbits by strangling the animals and pounding their heads on the ground.
On May 25, 1998, Robinson allegedly walked onto a neighbor's porch, kicked the door, ripped a window screen, then took two rabbits from their cages and strangled them to death. Robinson was charged with felony animal abuse and was also charged with damaging property. Robinson told the court that he had been drunk and was looking for a person with whom he had a dispute. He also stated that "I truly was sorry for what I've done."
Rock County Circuit Court Judge James Welker sentenced Robinson to a six month work-release program, two years of probation, and ordered him to make a $500 contribution to the Rock County Humane Society. References- Associated Press
