Authorities say emaciated animals and rotting carcasses are among the things they found in a search of the State Route 93 farm.

Authorities have removed several animals from a Vinton County farm after reports that the animals were being abused.

Vinton County Sheriff Dave Hickey says three counts of animal cruelty have been filed against Pat and Kathy Wilson of State Route 93 McArthur. Additional charge are pending.

Authorities discovered emaciated animals and rotting carcasses during a visit to the property over the weekend. The Wilsons had approximately 40 animals on the farm, including cows, ponies, rabbits, dogs and a ram.
