County: Saint Landry

Disposition: Alleged

Alleged: Dorian Castille

A 23-year-old Opelousas man has learned the hard way that barbed wire and fighting roosters can be a dangerous combination. The St. Landry Sheriff's Office says deputies spotted a man walking along Acadiana road Tuesday morning scratched up, bleeding, and with torn, wet clothes.

A Sheriff's spokesman says Dorian Castile was trying to steal someone's fighting roosters, which are valued at about $800 a piece.

The roosters were recovered nearby. Castille is recovering in jail.
