Abuser names unreleased
A golden retriever in a prison dog program remains under the care of a vet, after it was discovered the animal had been sexually abused. Two inmates are under investigation by the State Highway Patrol.
Ross Correctional's Circle-Tail Dog Program pairs dogs with carefully chosen inmates to be trained for people with special needs. Studies have shown that inmates who participate in this program are less likely to commit more crimes when released.
Charges have not yet been filed, pending the collection of evidence and test results.
