Dog left without food or water

An anonymous tip came in from a concerned citizen reported a pit-bull puppy chained up at a residence in naval housing in Bremerton. Report indicated that the suspect had moved and no one was caring for the dog for the past two weeks.
 
Upon investigation, dog was found chained to the front porch of the vacant residence, dog was emaciated and dead.  No food water or sustenance found at or near the vicinity.
 
Officer identified an owner and subsequently charged for 1st degree Animal Cruelty.  Voice recorded messages to the investigating officer from the suspect admitted that she had moved out and left the dog behind.
 
Trial set for May 19, 2004 as suspect declined the plea offer. The name of suspect is being withheld until after trial date.
