The Wilson County sheriff says an organized dog fight his deputies broke up showed him the problem isn't contained.

Deputies say people were running for the woods as officers began arresting those involved early Sunday.

They arrested 21 adults and a juvenile on property owned by Gordy Graves, Jr., just north of Lebanon. Graves was one of those charged and police say admission was being charged.

Deputies seized 15 cars from six states and took five dogs under protection. Sheriff Ashe says there were two dead dogs on the property.

The sheriff also says there might have been as many as 40 people there when deputies arrived. Suspects were arrested on charges of animal cruelty, using animals to fight, gambling and evading arrest.
