County: Leon

Disposition: Alleged

Alleged: Paul Brooks

A Tallahassee man was arrested Friday for dog fighting after a police officer caught the whole thing on tape, according to court documents.

The officer said that he saw the suspect, Paul Brooks, using a black and white pit pull to fight another dog. The officer said that he discovered the dog fight last week while he was monitoring video dated March 17.

According to the officer, the video showed Brooks and another suspect with two chained dogs.

The officer said that Brooks, who was wearing a shirt with his first name sewn to it, was teaching the dogs to fight each other.

As soon as officers saw what was on the video, they went to the house on Americana and arrested Brooks, who tried to give police a false name.

The dogs were seized and are being housed at animal control as part of this investigation.

Both animals were not vaccinated or tagged and one of them had visible wounds on his the side of his face.
