County: Erie

Disposition: Alleged

Alleged: Brandon Braukoff

A Buffalo man is charged with animal cruelty after allegedly stabbing a dog six times.

Brandon Braukoff, 32, was arrested May 25 and charged after an investigation by Erie County SPCA Animal Cruelty Investigators. Braukoff allegedly stabbed his dog in the neck at his Buffalo home.

The dog, a 1-year-old pit bull/terrier mix named Rome, was stabbed six times and has been receiving treatment for the past four days. However, after a veterinarian noticed complications from a deep wound along Rome's trachea, the dog underwent emergency surgery. Rome is said to be recovering well.

Braukoff is due in court for arraignment on June 14.
