A dog was tortured and killed in a vacant Lehigh County farmhouse in what officials suspect was a Satanic ritual that may be linked to the recent deaths of three other dogs.

The mixed-collie was tied to a pipe, and its head bashed with a concrete block, said Orlando Aguirre, a Humane Society officer.

The dog probably died Saturday night or Sunday. Three dogs were found dead Sunday in a creek in Lower Milford Township, state police at Fogelsville said.

Police declined to say how those dogs died, except to say they were also victims of animal cruelty. Animal cruelty, a third-degree felony, can bring up to seven years in prison, Aguirre said.
