Suspect(s) Unknown - We need your help!
A Long Island animal cruelty organization is searching for a suspect after a cat was struck by an arrow and later died from its injuries.
The cat came on to a porch on Richmond Ave. in Medford Tuesday evening with a red arrow through it, according to Ray Gross, Chief of the Suffolk County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
Officers from the SPCA responded, and an officer was severely bitten by the cat before it was brought to Mather Memorial Hospital for treatment.
The Town of Brookhaven Animal Shelter took over care for the cat until it died from arrow-related injuries.
