Nursing dog beaten by owner

Alleged: Larry C. Rossman

A 43-year-old Bath man was arrested Monday for allegedly beating his dog.

Larry C. Rossman, of 29 Buell St., is charged with animal cruelty for allegedly beating his female beagle, which had six nursing puppies. Ross was arraigned in Bath Village Court and released on his own recognizance. He could face jail time if convicted.

All seven dogs were removed from the home and are under the care of the Finger Lakes SPCA.

SPCA animal cruelty Inv. Scott Mazzo investigated the case with the assistance of the Bath Police Department and the Village of Bath Dog Control.
