County: Wake

Disposition: Alleged

Alleged: Michael Jackson

Animal control officers this morning accused a 35-year-old Raleigh man of intentionally starving a litter of pit bull puppies in his care.

Investigators have charged Michael Jackson of 1017 Suffolk Blvd. with nine misdemeanor counts of cruelty to animals, according to arrest warrants filed today at the Wake County Magistrate's Office.

Police obtained warrants for Jackson's arrest on Monday after they discovered at his home nine, four-week old puppies in need of food.

Police transported Jackson to the Wake County jail, where he is being held in lieu of $4,500 bail, court records show.
