Charles Scott, 42, of Forest Avenue, Syracuse, faces animal abuse charges after investigators seized five pit bulls from his home.
Charles Scott has been charged with ten counts of animal cruelty. The SPCA says the dogs were allegedly left in the cold outside a home on Leon Street. One dog had died before cruelty investigators arrived.
Cruelty investigator described what investigators found. The dog was extremely emaciated, dehydrated, and had some sores, open wounds on its body. Another dog was huddled, violently shaking in its dog house.
There were several make shift dog houses inside an enclosure in the front yard, where investigators say they seized the pit bulls on January 12th, 2003. A sixth was found dead inside its doghouse.
The surviving dogs are being housed inside the SPCA's dog kennel in Mattydale. Puffer says they're doing well.
Scott was arraigned on the charges Friday and will be back in court February 6th 2004. Neighborhood MapFor more information about the Interactive Animal Cruelty Maps, see the map notes.
