Drug and animal cruelty charges were filed against a Louisville couple accused of trafficking drugs near a school and keeping two dogs confined to a kitchen pantry.

Police executed a search warrant at the home of Leannard and Shannon Wilson on Fenley Avenue in the Lyndon area on Wednesday. Officers found large baggies of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and a 25 caliber pistol inside their console of their vehicle. Police said it happened within 1,000 feet of a daycare center.
