County: Suffolk

Charges: Misdemeanor
Disposition: Alleged

Alleged: Christina R. Jones

Police charged Christina R. Jones with two counts of misdemeanor animal cruelty via indictment related to the discovery of two dead pit bulls.

Jones told police that she was the sole caregiver of the dogs, according to Debbie George.

Police say animal control responded to the report of a dead dog on Oct. 31 where one dead pit bull was found along with an emaciated pit bull. Both dogs were seized and a necropsy was performed on the deceased dog, reveling that the dog was severely malnourished.

George says the second dog was examined and was not only malnourished, but suffered from heart worms and later had to be euthanized.

The dogs were seized from the 100 block of Cedar Street in Suffolk, at a residence of a relative of Jones.
