Kendrick Terrell McMillian, 21, was arrested and charged with four counts of animal cruelty Friday in St. Johns County, when investigators found abused puppies and dogs that were being trained to fight.

Police said they received a tip from a neighbor and they made an unannounced visit to the house. There they found a brown pit bull with severe bite marks on its muzzle, and another with a large swivel weight that was pulling it down.

Officers also found two puppies in a cage filled with feces and with no water. Investigators said the four dogs were obviously abused and severely underweight.

Police also found fight training equipment in the yard: poles, chains and Creatine -- a supplement to increase the dog's muscles.

The dogs were taken to the Humane Society, where they will be monitored and treated until a judge rules on what will happen to them.
