Alleged: Name Undisclosed
A gruesome discovery at a Temperance home could be a case of animal neglect.
Sheriff's deputies got a tip that dead calves were found at a property on the 400 block of West Samaria Road.
The Monroe County sheriff's office says they found dead and malnourished animals at the home, but they aren't releasing any additional details.
Local animal activists are doing all they can to help. Members of an animal rights group "Chained Inc." tipped off authorities to the home on West Samaria.
One member of Chained recorded the findings from the property. They say five dead calves were found, as well as a number of malnourished animals.
Sheriff's deputies say the man in charge of the animals has stated that the calves were sick and died just a few days ago.
Authorities also say the man has said he could not afford food to feed all of his animals.
So far, no charges have been filed, but members of Chained say they want to see the surviving animals placed in homes where they can receive proper care.
The Monroe County Sheriff's Office says the case will be turned over to Monroe County Animal Control.
