Alleged: Quonzy Lanard Hope
A Rock Hill man was cited Thursday with animal cruelty after police found a malnourished, injured dog while they were looking for a wanted person at a Rock Hill residence.
While executing a warrant at 1076 Carolina Ave. Ext. Thursday afternoon, police found a pit bull chained up behind the residence, according to a Rock Hill Police report.
The animal was "severely malnourished" and had a broken hip. It was chained to a short piece of thick, heavy chain and had no food or water, the report said.
York County Animal Control cited Quonzy Hope, 23, of the same address with animal maltreatment.
Police also arrested Soterio Lamar Hope, 19, who they were searching for, and another man for hindering police, according to reports.
Soterio Hope was booked at Moss Justice Center on drug-related charges.
