Suspect(s) Unknown - We need your help!
Two skinned dogs have been found dead in the Berthoud-Loveland area this week, and the Larimer Humane Society is seeking the public's help.
That dog, which appeared to be sheepdog based on its size, also had been decapitated, she said. The second dog was found dead in the area of County Road 16 between Berthoud and Loveland, she said.
"It's an atrocious crime," Willms said. "The injuries were very deliberate."
Willms said investigators believe the two dogs' deaths may be connected due to the highly unusual nature and similarities of the incidents. In each case, the perpetrator would likely face felony animal cruelty charges, she said.
The Larimer Humane Society asked that anyone with information about these incidents call the humane society at (970) 226-3647 ext. 5.
