Two teenagers were arrested for allegedly stabbing a cat to death.

Sacramento police were called to an apartment complex in the 5300 block of 47th Avenue about 7:30 p.m. Monday.

Someone reported that two people were lurking in the area wearing ski masks. Officers found the teenagers, who were armed with knives. The boys also had dead cat in a box, which they tried to hide when officers approached, police said.

The 15 and 16 year old boys were arrested on suspicion of cruelty to animals and possession of a concealed weapon. It was not clear why they had stabbed the cat.
