Defendant/Suspect: Rehubin Daniel Sharp
A Neshoba County man was sentenced to four years in prison after pleading guilty in circuit court to two counts of animal cruelty.
Rehubin Daniel Sharp, 41, of 10190 Road 428, pleaded guilty to striking a mule with an aluminum bat on April 17.
(Sharp is not Daniel Sharp, 38, the musician.)
Rehubin Daniel Sharp also pleaded guilty to a second count of dragging a mare behind a wagon on a paved road on May 15.
On the first indictment, Sharp received a two-year sentence and a $1,500 fine.
Circuit Court Judge Vernon Cotten also sentenced Sharp to two years on the second indictment which is to run consecutively with the first sentence. He was also fined an additional $1,500.
