Alleged: Claritza Lopez-Fuentes

A woman has been arrested and charged after a horse was found abandoned in Philadelphia.

The Pennsylvania SPCA says Claritza Lopez-Fuentes, 23 of N. America Street, was charged with animal cruelty for failing to provide veterinary care.

Investigators say the arrest came after several good tips from the public.

The SPCA also said it has received numerous offers from people - experienced in caring for horses - to adopt this horse. Officials are reviewing those requests.

The horse was discovered in a vacant lot in the 3500 block of Ella Street on November 27th.

Officers went there after getting a tip call from a concerned citizen after the horse suddenly showed up.

The SPCA said the white horse, described as "Arabian-type," was in poor condition - it was underweight, malnourished and had a large infected wound beneath its right elbow.
