Police investigating alleged animal mistreatment have removed dogs from a number of properties across Belfast.

Two men aged 17 and 18 were arrested on suspicion of causing unnecessary suffering to animals following raids in the south and east of the city on Sunday.

The series of operations were carried out by officers from the PSNI Tactical Crime Team along with wardens from the USPCA.

A number of dogs and items were seized.

The two teenagers are currently helping police with their inquiries.
