Defendant/Suspect: Tanya D. Harris

In August, police charged Tanya D. Harris, 34, with inadequate care of her pit bull-mix after the dog was discovered dangling in the backyard off her 6-foot-high deck in the 1200 block of Jackson Street. Police said the dog slipped through a deck railing, hanging itself.

On Oct. 7, Harris was convicted of inadequate care and ordered to pay fines and costs of $242, records show.
