A Halifax couple is facing multiple animal cruelty charges, according to Halifax County Sheriff's Office records.

William Gilbert Ragsdale, 64, and Shirley Ragsdale, 63, both of Paul Pry Trail, were charged with two felony counts each of engaging in the fighting of animals and six misdemeanor counts each of inflicting injury to an animal.

The offenses allegedly occurred March 3 and 4 of last year, and Deputy C. A. Bates served the warrants Saturday.
