A Hollywood police officer has been suspended with pay after being cited for animal neglect of a male pit bull, named Hurricane.  It was stated the dog appeared to be suffering from severe malnutrition and  abuse to the face, feet and stomach.

The investigation began after the allegations of abuse after receiving a call from the Hollywood Animal Hospital.

Police cited Officer Ashley Reed, 27, with misdemeanor animal neglect.
