Due to a large number of complaints from local residents, the local sheriff (Roy Gentry)and the D.A. (Rob Wallace) of LeFlore Co. went to Matthew Campbell's property in Pocolo, OK to investigate his abuse of animals. They allegedly found a make-shift fighting ring, which contained five mutilated and still suffering dogs.

A minpin with one leg ripped off, two boxers, torn up and mauled and two mauled and mutilated great dane puppies were allegedly found still alive on the scene. The sheriff and DA allegedly saw over 100 dogs, 25 of which were scared and injured pit bull terriers the rest various purebreed and mixed dogs. The dogs were allegedly chained to trees without water, food, and housing for many of these dogs.

Mr Campbell reportedly told these men that he had always fought dogs and that he would continue to fight dogs till he died. He agreed at that time to surrender his dogs to animal rescue. The DA and Sheriff allegedly left the already mangled dogs to die in the pit where they lay.

The DA has decided that he will not prosecute Mr Campbell and now Mr Campbell has no reason to relinquish the dogs. It is a felony in OK to fight dogs. Each case of animal cruelty carries a $750 fine with the posibility of a year in jail.

Mr Campbells alleged admission is enough to get him arrested as well as the 100 dogs in horrific conditions chained to trees.

PETA wrote a letter to Mr. Wallace, and Mr. Wallace replied with a letter which can be viewed here:
