Dog sexually assaulted, child molested
Westville, IN (US)

Incident Date: Wednesday, Jun 1, 2011
County: La Porte

Charges: Felony CTA, Felony Non-CTA
Disposition: Alleged

Alleged:
» Jackie Koker
» Rebecca Bermudez

A man and woman have been charged with engaging in sex acts with a pit bull in Westville then allowing a young relative to join in.

Rebecca Bermudez, 40, is charged in LaPorte Circuit Court with child molesting, bestiality, and aiding, inducing or causing bestiality, all felonies.

Jackie Koker, 44, is charged with bestiality, aiding, inducing or causing bestiality, and aiding, inducing or causing child molesting, all felonies.

Both defendants on Wednesday were ordered held in the LaPorte County Jail on $25,000 cash bond.

Koker and Bermudez are scheduled to be arraigned before Judge Tom Alevizos on Friday.

Westville police Officer Rich Oberle in his evidentiary findings presented to the court said he was assigned the case June 7 after the victim told another person about the alleged encounter.

According to police, the couple in May or June were engaging in a sexual act with a dog, when the victim walked into the room. The victim was invited to join them. The couple are accused of having intercourse in front of the victim and then allowing the victim to touch Bermudez in a sexual manner.

Bermudez is charged with then molesting the girl while Koker watched.

The two adults also engaged in sex in front of the child, ostensibly to teach her about human reproduction, prosecutors allege.

Westville police say they began investigating the case after the 5-year-old later told someone what had happened to her.
