A five-week-old kitten was thrown from the window of a moving car in a disturbing case of cat cruelty.

The kitten is okay now and he's been given the name "Verrazano" because he was tossed out on the Verrazano Bridge.

An animal control officer saw what happened on Saturday and stopped to rescue him.

He took the kitten to Animal Care and Control's Staten Island center.

The organization wants to hear from anyone who can help identify the person who threw the kitten out of the car.
