Dog found stabbed to death in a creek bed

A Marshall man has been arrested and charged with felony animal cruelty after a neighbor's dog is found stabbed to death in a creek bed.

Ralph Donald Davis, 54, of 5311 U.S. 25/70 in Marshall was arrested on Wednesday, June 22 for allegedly stabbing another man's dog over five times with a knife on Panhandle Road.

According to Sheriff Buddy Harwood, the incident occurred late Monday night, but the owner did not find the dog, a three-year-old mixed breed named "Lucky Jr.," until the next morning and alerted officials.

The dog was found dead by the owner with numerous puncture wounds in the head, legs and ear, in a creek bed across the road from the owner's home.
