Cat found starved almost to death
Saint Johnsbury, VT (US)

Incident Date: Friday, Jun 17, 2011
County: Caledonia

Disposition: Alleged

Alleged: Fawn-Marie Hall

Police in St. Johnsbury, Vt., say they've charged a woman who allegedly left her cat at home with no food or water, nearly starving it.

Sgt. Stephen Bunnell says the town manager's office alerted him to a report of possible animal cruelty at a home on Memorial Drive on Friday. A man who complained about it told police he'd found the cat almost dead.

The animal's owner, 23-year-old Fawn-Marie Hall, told police she had been leaving food and water for the cat every three to five days.

The cat was taken to a veterinarian for evaluation.

Hall was cited into Caledonia County Superior Court on Aug. 8, charged with animal cruelty.
