County: Washington

The Washington County Sheriff's Office, with assistance from humane officers, rescued 82 animals from 3265 School House Road, Little Hocking Friday afternoon.

A search warrant was obtained for the residence after an investigation determined the animals were living in deplorable conditions. During the search warrant, 35 dogs, 11 birds, four rabbits, two ducks and 30 chickens were rescued.

The residence was covered in feces and urine to the point the floor was rotting, according to the sheriff's office. One of the kennel techs from the Humane Society fell through the floor in the kitchen area of the residence. There was no running water inside this residence and feces covered nearly every inch of the residence and its contents.

Vicki Gray and Willie Ross reside at this location with their 18-year-old. Willie Ross had a warrant for his arrest and was transported to the Washington County Sheriff's Office.

Gray and Ross were charged with 38 counts of animal cruelty. An 18-year-old also living in the home was not charged.

Gray is on probation for charges unrelated to this incident. From the previous charges, the court issued an order stating she is to have no more than three dogs.
