Hoarding - five dogs, six cats
Calgary, AB (CA)

Incident Date: Thursday, Nov 6, 2003

Disposition: Alleged

Abuser names unreleased

A Calgary woman may faces charges of animal cruelty after 11 animals were taken from her home in the northwest. Five dogs and six cats were removed by the SPCA Wednesday. Officers at the scene say every inch of the house was covered with animal feces.

The dogs were found in a room without water or food. Two of the dogs were dehydrated and starving, one may not live. Three others are at the Calgary Humane Society. The cats are also at the shelter and appear to be healthy.

The woman, who is the home owner, was living in the house without any heat or power.
