A former Sevier County resident was charged with cruelty to animals this week.
Susan R. Delaney, 45 of Oak Grove Ky., has been charged with eight counts of cruelty to animals by Animal Control Officer Phil King after a tip was received about abandoned dogs at her former residence.
According to Sevier County Sheriff Ron Seals, the Sheriff's Office Animal Control Unit was notified about several abandoned dogs at a home located at 2029 Waldens Creek Road last week.
Animal control officers arrived at the home and found one deceased dog and seven other dogs in a garage without any food or water available.
Delaney had rented the home at the Waldens Creek address, but had moved back to Kentucky at the time of the offense.
Officers confiscated the animals that are now at the Sevier County Humane Society for evaluation.
Delaney was arrested on Monday, was booked into Sevier County Jail and was released. A June 15 hearing has been set in General Sessions Court. References |
