Midland City, AL (US)

Incident Date: Friday, May 6, 2011
County: Dale

Charges: Misdemeanor
Disposition: Alleged

Alleged: Jeffrey L. Dean

Case Updates: 1 update(s) available

Dale County Sheriff's investigators are looking for a Headland man wanted on multiple animal cruelty charges.

Investigator Harvey Mathis said three warrants have been filed against Jeffrey L. Dean, 46, of Dale County Road 79, charging him with three misdemeanor counts of cruelty to animals.

Mathis said the charges stem from Dean allegedly moving from his home on County Road 79, which is in Headland but also in Dale County, and leaving three dogs behind.

Mathis said deputies found some dogs locked inside the home without food or water. After investigators entered the home on Friday, May 6, they found two dogs inside and another outside, all of which appeared to be "starving" and in need of food and water.

Mathis said Dean is no longer living at the home, and deputies are trying to locate him to serve him with the warrants for his arrest.

Mathis said the three dogs were turned over to Dean's ex-wife.

Anyone with information about on the whereabouts of Dean can call the Dale County Sheriff's Office at (334) 774-2335.
