The original call came in on August 8, 2003 to the Troy Police Department and the Monadnock Humane Society. The caller said that she heard her neighbor saying that another puppy had died and that the smell of the house was so strong she could smell it from across the street. The Troy Police were the first to respond. They were shown a round the house and counted 37 animals living in absolute filth. The officers would smell the ammonia emanating from the house when they pulled in the driveway. There 7 puppies that were kept in a dark mildew and mold infested basement. All the puppies where under weight and infested with fleas, earmites, and worms. There was one puppy that was the runt of the litter that was severely anemic due to the flea infestaion. There were adult cats and that where kept in the basement just for breeding purpose's and never handled at all. All of the cats are Siamese and Himalayans There were litter boxes that where over flowing with feces and they looked like they had not been changed in over a month. In the kitchen and the living room there where cages that had sick kittens with no food or water and were just about dead. Outside in a small broken down shed with a fence around is lived an old blind chow that was only given food and water and used for breeding until she couldn't produce anymore puppies.
