A $1000 reward is offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of whoever fatally shot a 10 year old buckskin horse named Buck.
Franklin H. Bullock found the horse lying dead on a logging road near his corral. The horse had been shot once in the right shoulder, apparently wtih a rifle, and the bullet had punctured his lung.
The police suspect someone may have been poaching deer and mistaken the horse for one because it was more or less the same color.
The investigators believe that sometime Friday evening, deer may have broken the wooden corral fence allowing Buck to escape.
